  • Reply Big Man Hit the Floor Hard

I've been training BJJ for close to four years straight now attending class almost every day. I've found almost every new idiot that comes in to train when they find that they can't pass your guard or do any thing to you immedately start going for heel hooks and leg locks and crap. I can always tell when they are going to go for it because the guy will like stand up in my guard and full on GI Joe grip my leg or ankle. I just think are you stupid of course I know want you're going to try and do next. Then they sit back for the leg lock or heel hook and I get on top and kick the guys ass. Also it's you don't have to really establish any kind of position to go into those subs so when a guy is cleanly out matched he starts going for shit like that because it's his only way to even have a chance at winning. I've studied leg locks a lot mainly because I don't want so dumb ass moron coming in and blowing out my knee. This is the deal if you can't go into a leg lock and establish control over they guy while you're in position you shouldn't be training the damn thing in the first place. for example a guy loses control of my leg so he tries to switch to the ankle twist and he goes ape shit trying to twist my ankle off. If you already lost control of the leg it's too late man. All he's going to do is end up in a bad position or if he's lucky, strong enough and fast enough he'll end up tearing my ankle off before I even have the chance to tap. If you can't enter in to a leg lock and control the guy from the leg lock position than you shouldn't be trying that crap in the first place. These kind of people just piss me off because all they do is lose Jui-Jitsu matches or end up injurying people. When they could be getting better.
