Judo is still a great MA. As for BJJ being better than Judo??? they are two different animals. Judo is more throw/pin than it is to submit someone. most BJJ practioners settle for the double leg takedown which is easily countered by sprawling or knee straight the the face. I think it would benefit BJJers to study some Judo for the throws. 
ALso I think Sambo is some kool stuff as well. Sambo teaches a lot of throwing and it also emphasizes on Leg locks which most BJJers tend to avoid.
Catch as Catch Can is another worthy art to compliment your BJJ.
