  • Pedro Rizzo out of UFC..........

This may have already been discussed, but Marco told me during class last night that Pedro is out of the November UFC. He sustained a knee injury during training. He has been training in Brazil for the fight and is pretty disappointed. I don't know who his replacement will be to fight Couture. It looks like I am going to cancel my trip to Atlantic City.

By the way, I am really excited about the John Lewis - Jens Pulver fight. I am curious who all of you think will win? I saw Jens fight at the UFC in Lake Charles against David Velasquez of Frank's academy. I'll tell you something, he is one of the most impressive fighters I've seen! He's fights out of Pat Militech's team. So I am going with him to win by decision.

What a bummer. Pedro is an awesome athlete and competitor.

Well, I hope he gets healthy soon.

          too bad

Pedro is one of the most under-rated fighters in the world. He needs to be in Pride but I guess that he cant resist those big U.F.C. paycheck

Too bad, I was looking forward to seeing that fight. I love both those guys. They're both great competitors with serious skill.

My pick is Lewis. He's got top notch skills, just the heat of competition at times seems to cloud his judgement. Add to that his stature...But I definately think it will be a GOOD fight! Pulver is no slouch.

                I'll take Lewis as well.
In my opinion Pulver lost to Roque, or at least Didn't BEAT him. He DID beat Franks boy, so his skill isn't to be questioned. AND he uses UFC rules well, but IMO Lewis is a more complete fighter and is strong as an ox.
I take Lewis via unanimous decision.

I'll also take Lewis. I fear that this will turn boring because both fighters have such great defenses. I hope at least one of them comes out aggressively.

I've heard rumors that he was scheduled for a seminar here in Italy. I hope it will not be erased...

Should we bet a brew on this one?

Of course. One of these days I'll make it to see a UFC live and collect or pay up then.

                          Hitchahard,

You train with Marco? Where? What style are you learning? Ruas kicks ass(so does Rizzo). If they're in the States I want to train with them.

His new studio is in Laguna Niguel, California. You'll probably need to speak to a guy named Mark or Marco's wife to get info. Marco's english is very broken. The number is (949) 496-2816. Tell him that his student Jim referred you.

The group classes run Monday, Wednesday and Friday's 6:00 - 7:30 pm. IMHO, he is the best instructor I've had. He takes the training and improvement of the students seriously.

We'll talk about settling-up after the fight. Sounds like I am the only one picking Pulver.

I'll also take Pulver, not because he's the greatest or anything, but becasue Lewis has to be the most overrated fighter in history. He definatly has taken the award away from Miletich. Here is a guy who is 3-3-3 lifetime, has 1 win in his last 6 fights with 3 loses, and somehow he's fighting for the lightweight title. I know that Peretti is in love with him and all, but give me a break. His 3 wins have been over fighters that have 0 wins collectivly in MMA. Why are people so impressed with him?
