Gold Weave refers to a certain design of kimono that is supposedly lighter and more comfortable to train in.

So has anyone tried a Gold Weave or have any imput on them?

A friend of mine has an Atama gold weave. It's significantly lighter-weight than any single weave I've seen. I was impressed. Seems excellent for hot weather. I will probably buy one for my next gi.

Heavier gi's are better in that it it's slightly harder for an opponent to get a good grip and they usually have better collars.

If I go to another tournament, no question I would wear my HCK double.

I only ever wore a Gi for one MA that was Aikido. That was a few years ago when I was 11.

i meant a Gi that was physically heavier, and hotter too. just so sparring and training is that much more intense

Gi's are all well and good but it doesn't prepare you fully for a real world fight. Because it is very hard to find a person wearing something that strong in a street fight. So therefor limiting the amount of techniques you can use.
