I like the question but I dont think there is a good answer. I am partial toward Jui Jitsu but that is what works for me. I think the question would be answered best by saying the best martial arts out there is the one that works for you

what little my instructor has shown me of Silat has proved worthwhile, and an interesting approach to combat, although crazyjoe I too like Muay Thai better, but knowing so little about Silat I hate to say what is more effective. And Victor de Thouras seems like a bad mo-fo
