If you want more info study accupuncture. In some circles it's considered to be certain points in the body that if tampered with will interrupt the flow of chi that flows through the body. This is a Chinese concept so start there. Dim Mak was supposedly the study of causing death by touching these points in the body. Whether it actually is effective has always been under debate.
