hey guys...I've been a stand up fighter for a long time ( tkd - muay thai) but I ve been a big fan of grappling and BJJ ever since ufc 1..... so......I did it... I finally took my first BJJ lesson... worked on some techniques and stuff,,, then it came to free sparring time...
I've been able to avoid alot of subs and bad positions just cos of the fights i've been watching and studying from ufc and pride etc....(amazing what you can learn by just watching!)
but I did find that I was always getting caught in the guillotine from someones guard!!! damn! I mean I always thought this was the easiest thing to get out of.. just get my arm in and get out!... I'm able to escape if the guy is trying slowly to get the choke... but if he slaps it on quick... I finds myself tapping pretty fast!...
also... I have a bad habit of shooting for the double leg wrecklessly....so that could also be the problem...
Any techniques you can share with me??
damn I love this sport!
