  • Birth certificate translation for new Passport

I’m an Australian citizen who was born born overseas. I’m in the process of applying for a new passport as my old one has been expired for more than 5 years. In the online application it’s asked me to provide a translated birth certificate that’s approved by some translators body in Australia. I have my original birth certificate in the language of the country I was born in and also a multilingual version with English too. Will multilingual birth certificates suffice in such instances?

My birth certificate had English printed on it alongside the original language, but they still insisted on a certified translation from a recognised source. I thought having the multilingual version would make it easier, but nope, they were really specific about having it translated and stamped by someone approved locally. It sounds like Australia has a similar setup with NAATI.

If you end up needing a certified translation done quickly or for other legal purposes, check out apostillelondon.com for official documents translation. Everything’s clear-cut and handled professionally.
