The road signs over in the U.K. make me stop and think sometimes. You have to translate, for example, 'mind the lorry' into 'watch for trucks'.

If you think that's bad you should go to a friend of mine's Muay Thai school in Hilo, HI. The instructor comes up to you and says with encouragement, "Kick mo hardah!" Huh?

Mike - yes, the word "mum" is the most common way that we refer to our mothers. Very young kids would say "mummy".....

I say, apples and pears me old china! What what?

The kids are all being taught metric, but us old timers (?) use pounds and stones etc.

There have recently been high profile cases in the courts about market traders who insist on selling their produce by the pound. They have actually been prosecuted for refusing to go metric! The world is mad.
