  • This is the truth about self defense..

    There is a saying..

some who dont know what is happening ..

some who wonder what is happening ..

and people from the streets that make things happen..

I saw a demonstration.. that went real bad
this guy name Armon Singleton was doing a demonstration on self defense and he was teaching stuff about how the body works, weak points, and stuff..

i wondered how much fighting experiance this guy had..

Just one mili second that i had the thought about this. some mexican dud with a tang top is beating the shit out of this so called master of self defense..

it was funny but it was so embarresing.. everyone was in that .. breaking it up.. and armon sinletons camp was trying to break it up. He was bleeding.. and the dude that attacked was kidda ripped.. tatooed up..

then i said.. this guy is a joke .. poor guy.. lol ..

then i remember everything we are talking about...

about this martial arts and that... and it's not what u know it's just whos on they toes..

I've been in gangs.. and i can tell u there is a THOUSANDS OF "TANK ABBOTTS" walking around Los Angeles.. So how is your style gonna deal with them if you aint open minded and stay traditional???

Jesus.. i still feel sorry for him... lol

I've known folks in gangs before. They were early reps of the first chapters in my region. This was back in maybe '93 or '94. They were out of it before I knew them. Truth is, nobody bothers with h2h, except for beat ins. Not out here, anyway.

It's more like drive by the guys house real slow and gat it. Or sneak up behind the guy and knife him (more likely just shoot him, though). They don't give you a chance, because you might have the gun, or be the Tank Abbott.

Honestly, I doubt many folks expect to survive a gang encounter -- a real gang encounter. We train to beat random drunks, bar brawlers, muggers, rapists, and to do what we have to when nothing else works. Going up against five thug mofos with Tek 9s isn't going to work. Just accept it. Run. You'll probably still die though. Yes, even you marathon men. LOL

I stay away from bad parts of town, and I don't carry a lot of cash. All my cards have my face on them. I carry a knife, a telescopic baton, and a kubaton at all times. If I see five guys who look like they want trouble, I'll do my best to not be noticed.

multiple is one thing single another

To have to fend off more then one attacker is never that easy. But the subject was a single sudden attack sure he may have been caught off guard.. That may have been a possible to way in, I have said several times sometimes its best to walk and do what you must This was a do what you must time thats what is being said People forget the wild looping haymaker, thesudden flurry of punches that a street fighter employes. Why because you get used to the way you train. and the type of people you train with they are not out to beat you down. Where the real deal is. Add that idea to the training . remember what you have seen have done and at least periododicly bring it up in the training sessions to knock a little rust off . No one can be sure they are ready for the fight all they can do is keep there wits and let the course develop the actions A street fighter is impulsive he gets done to business fast . So you need to train for quick manouvers that will help defend this action nothing is best but if you trained towards this you can respond better I was told in a martail art class who do you think is your worst oppent is several poeple said different things . The instructor then said the new student was . Why because he is untrained in his skills so you do not know what he is going to do when he attacks. Thats the street fighter I never forgot what was said because he was right

Self-Defense is all about environmental awareness, de-escalation, pre-emptive strikes, adrenaline dump, and the shock of surprise attacks and weapons.

Anyone teaching "self-defense" has to understand that, and also have experience under his belt. That means you're a fighter, not a technical "martial artist."

Hey, Joe, if the mexican guy attacked me and I shot him in the face would you still consider me a "self-defense" guy?

                  Ryu

P.s. I've never heard of this guy. Who is he and what does he teach?

LMFAO, that's some funny shit! Should be done more often! It would expose all the phoney "self-defense experts" around who make money off their bullshit.
