you know this is rough to answer.. To kill is wrong if it holds no reason. And to kill after the fight began will still leave marks And DNA so you still have to explain why .. THEN you must plan before you act Also it must be at a time that wont bring attention back to you.. Better to explain sefdefence if its at the time of problem Answers must be careful May be better to lead toward whats the reason for the kill first then it may find the sernio for answers..

would you use your martial arts skill to kill or mame someone if you knew that you could get away with it?

I wouldn't kill someone because I would surely end up in prison or maybe worse. But I would try to choke someone out if I had to, then tie him up if I could. If I couldn't tie him and lets just say he was in my house, maybe after I got him unconcious I might jack up one of his knees with a heel hook. Would probly get in serious trouble for it tho. Doing anything to a person after they were unconcious would look really bad in court.

Well...I think you might all know the saying, "Dead men tell no tales"...if that helps at all...

What I'm saying is that if you are attacked by someone, then they can't lie and say you attacked them if they aren't around to explain their side...but that's only if they attack you with the intent to kill you. If someone attacked me trying to get my wallet I wouldn't kill them, under any circumstance. KO would be the extent of the damage I would inflict.

They call it a "concrete jungle" for a reason. Folks fall and hit their heads all the time. Happened just a few months ago in my town, all legit too. But the guy still got sent up because not only did he start the fight, but it was over how much he was allowed to drink at a club; the dude killed the owner by accident.

Now, take this situation (how he died, that is), and apply it to a someone hurting someone I know or me? "Sorry, officer. I punched him and he just fell over and hit his head."

No one has to know it was a double leg takedown into a wall or sidewalk.

Actually dead men do say quite alot. Like Joe says, forensic science will probably show exactly what went on. Brokenmace, for example. It would show beyond doubt your double leg takedown etc.

But it is the context within which you move that counts. What did he say and do to you? What grounds do you have for saying that you feared your life was genuinely in danger?

By the way. For me the question isn't "could I honestly say I could kil someone". It is, in certain circumstances, "could I honestly say that I could not". If someone hurts my family badly, they are going to die. And guess what? I know how to get away with it too.

They could tell he fell. They might even be able to tell how hard he fell. They wouldn't be able to deduce the move I used to make him fall.

Only two things would give it away: footprints (but we are talking about concrete), and wounds to the back of the leg if it was that violents. I don't think that would happen.

Anyway, if it was self defense I might get away with the truth . . .

Give me a break Brokenmace. I have 16 years Police experience in an inner city area. I know exactly what forensic science is capable of achieving.

They will find fibres from your coat on his knees, and fibres from your trousers on your shoulders/arms. You will have dirt from the floor (and they will prove it is the very same floor where the altercation took place) on your trousers too, as well as your hands/arms. You will tell a lie that they can prove is a lie, and you'll get a very long time to mull it over, with not much else to do.........

In self defence you may well get away with the truth (depending on what it is), but your naive lie would be your undoing. They will make mincemeat of you, because you are not wise enough to know what you DON'T know.

No offence, but have you ever heard the phrase "Don't tell your granny how to suck eggs"?
