I have to agree with ryanhall. Sprawling is very effective in countering this technique, and it's incredibally fast if you've practiced it at all. Maybe my trainer has really emphasized practicing the sprawl because the double leg takedown is so common in grappling and NHB fighting. I also agree with ryanhall about how limiting this move can be in wrestling, but when you add strikes to this, it can be deadly.
Crazyjoe: I can understand how someone who's done a lot of training can be much better at the double leg takedown, but I'm sure you've come across those guys who are just good at street fighting but have had no formal training who rush in, head down, just asking to be choked out...
