  • static or rhythmatic

when i was karate everyone one in my class would fight by just standing still or by stances. but i was a little different i fought with rhythm. i ended up the one of the best fighters in my class. and i was only 15 years old.

which way do you think is better

rhythmic and mobile wins in a sparring match every time. solid stances would not ever be an option. for me at least.

      Agreed!

Alive footwork vs dead stances... hmmmm!

That said, if you bounce around like a tkd player with predictable rhythym, you're asking for it. Use broken rhythm!

first of all properly trained tkd fighter don't just bounce around. when i fight my moves are sudden and not predictable. when you have rhythm you can flow from punch after punch. when you have rhythm and you re doing a kick you don't have to cock and then kick it just comes out. you could also more easily incorperate some boxing into it too. remember the best boxers almost always have good rhythm. it also gives you a better defense against wrestlers and defense in general. if anything it is the opposite of predictable. it has always worked for me

i don't even know what your talking about severed penis(Szczepankiewicz). i never said anything about dancing, hopping, bouncing, or sliding-i am talking about martial arts

                      Soup, soap, what's the difference?!

Heheh... Are we talking about jeet kune do or tae kwon do? I'm very confused (not that it takes much to confuse me).

I think we're saying the same thing - good rhythym is varied rhythym.

                      Poor rhythym is predictable tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock.
                      Broken rhythym is tick-tock-tick-toBAM!
