When you watch the UFC, most fighters seem to know either Thai boxing or jujitsu or wrestling.
But you never see tai chi, pah kwah, hsing i, or any other "soft" martial arts. And these are CONSIDERED the most powerful fighting arts. We also never see karate(NO not north american, i mean japanese, which IS more effective then american karate, and atleast has a good concept) or others like tae kwon do, kenpo.
well, atleast the winners never know these.
so....why not?

! But seriously, the chance that you know a little about what works and what does not, especially in real life, is greatly increased by living in an urban environment that has criminal problems from time to time.
