freestanding bags?

does anyone know of any good freestanding bags (bags you don't hang) that hard hard enough to condition your shins and knuckles? thanks in advance.

Go to a tire store and ask them for five spare tires all of the same dimensions. Then connect them together by drilling through the side walls and placing a bolt to hold each tire together. Finally, put some weight into the base. One method is to put a board along the base and then pour concrete in to the bottom tire. Walla, you can kick it, hit it with a stick, etc. Cost will be less than $10.00 plus an afternoon of labor.

Heavy bags

I just picked up a CENTURY XXL free standing bag. It weighs a staggering 250 lbs when the base is filled with water or sand.

It cost me a good $370 US with shipping (I live in Canada). Pricey but very nice. The bag isn't as hard as some heavy leather bags though. Hard enough to deliver impact but I find I can even hit it without gloves without hurting my hands.

It stand 5'10" tall and has a LOW profile base so I can work low thai kicking too.

So how do you like the Wavemaster XXL so far? You said it was good enough for thai kicks...how is it for knees/elbows/prumb work? The base doesn't get in the way of close-range work, does it. I'm thinking about getting one for my garage.
