  • Best place to buy training mats

I wanted to pick up some mats for my garage for groundwork. I am thinking that a minimum of two 4'x8' mats would be good. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to go to get a good deal? They can be pretty expensive.

    Thanks.

You might want to look at a school, YMCA, or Community center and see if they have any old ones that they were wanting to get rid of. Other than that I don't know of any place that might sell good, innexpensice mats. Hell I think I'll do that myself.

Run an add in the paper for a few weeks. Advertising for old wrestling/sports mats. You might just get a call or two.

i say dont waste money on mats, unless your begining then mats are very nesesary. its not like there are mats on the street.
A hard floor is good for sore muscles i say! once you get used to not having mats youll wonder why you ever needed them in the first place! At least thats what im told
But as it was said in earlyer posts getting used mats are your best bet, you mite get lucky and find one that somebody is throwing out! or just put down shag carpet! that would look good in your garage....
i know i havn't been any help, but im bored and thought id write a reply

I know you were trying to help the man out Tim, but those are the most expensive mats I've ever seen.

Yea, they are expensive but since they are used they are cheaper than buying them new. They are top quality mats used my most collegiate wrestling teams.

The best deal I can find is at

Two of the MODEL 21-V2 and 21-V4 COMPETITOR GYMNASTICS MATS are $250 each with $30 each shipping. This will make a 10' x10' mat. No tax.

I like the Swain mats. But, they are about $750 delivered. Ouch.
