  • Training in Tokyo/Yokohama

My China gig fell through, and I'm on my way back to Japan.

Does anyone have any info on training in the Kanto area, specifically Tokyo or Yokohama? I'm interested in JKD or Muay Thai, or any of the MMA blends such as Pancrase or Shoot. I know Pancrase has gyms in both cities, does anyone know anyone who's experienced training there?

    Any leads?

    T.

So what happened? You moved to China, but it wasn't so good, so you're going back to Japan? I can't really answer you're question, but your story sounds pretty interesting...

          My story

This is my story so far: I left Canada for Japan last year. I worked there as an English teacher for about six months, then I got a message from my former Wing Chun instructor in Singapore - he needed my help to do some photography and marketing work down there. So last September I moved to Singapore. My instructor's former boss had meanwhile been setting up a company in Guangzhou, China, selling advertising space on taxis. He wanted my instructor to join him over there, and since I had met the boss before and had done a couple of assignments for him, he ended up inviting me along too. This was back in December. Earlier this month I got a phone call from the boss - he was running into problems with the Chinese officials, and could only take one of us. Naturally he chose my intstructor. I was a little bummed out for a while, but I had been toying with the idea of going back to Japan for a while.

So I booked my flight and went back to Tokyo. I got in yesterday - it feels great to be back!

            Phonebooks are for wussies!

Phonebooks tend to be in Japanese here. Yeah, I can ask a friend to look something up for me, but as far as training is concerned, I would rather first investigate something that someone has suggested.

He asked for first hand recommendations of people that may have actually been to one of these places. PHone books cant give you that kinda information .
