There seems to be a lot of bias here regaurding the use of anabolic steroids.
As an athlete, mixed martial artist, and person of good will, I can tell you that most of this bias is unfounded, verbal spaghetti.
A few examples are as follows:
1. Steroids are immoral
2. Steroids are unhealthy
3. Steroids are for retards
I'd like to address each of these statements in turn, giving you my opinion, based on years of training and experience.
1. Steroids are immoral:
Suggesting that the use of steroids is immoral is almost too humorous to even address. However, for those of you who agree with this assumption, stop and ask yourself what harm, say, Arnold Swarzenegger has done to all of us by using anabolics to build the body and career he has done so for himself. None. Rather, he has inspired millions to become more concerned with thier own physical health, rather than become the proverbial "couch potato" who neglects his or her own health to an early death.
2. Steroids are unhealthy:
This statement can be true, if the use of anabolic steroids becomes misuse. As with many things in life, including prescription medications, a balance can be attained which allows for one to reap the benefits while minimizing the risk involved. This balance can be difficult to attain, requiring self discipline, money, and research. But, to those who do attain it come the rewards; increased strength, increased muscle mass, decreased body fat, inceased self-confidence, and the list goes on.
3. Steroids are for retards:
This is the type of uneducated, biased response one who has absolutely no knowledge or experience with anabolics makes. I've known doctors, lawyers, police officers, teachers, technical professionals, and many others who use anabolics, but NO retards.
Now, if any of you would like to have an intelligent conversation regaurding the use of anabolics, please feel free to comment. I am also available via email and would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
