re: toughman contests

i was in florida for the last two and a half weeks, and saw on tv they had a toughman contest between firefighters and the police partially for charity and was wondering are these contests common in the usa? i have heard of them but never actually watched one. it was kind of interesting. not as good as nhb but i thought i would ask about it.

They play the toughman series on the FX channel friday and saturday nights. Sometimes they have special like cops vs. firefighters or pro wrestlers vs. ex-football players. But the also do tournaments going around to most of the 50 states. I'd be interested in entering, it'd be fun.

There are usually a lot of brawlers that don't make it too far into the tournament. The ones that make it further are usually either somewhat skilled or just have real good conditioning. Stamina is a large factor considering most of these guys aren't the best punchers.
