That raises an interesting point. My old Muay Thai instructor use to carry a gun around any where he went. One day i asked him why he needed it? I said with your vast experience and skills you dont need something like that, he replied " if you f*ck with me on the street, I'll straight up shoot your ass" I then realized what he was trying to say. Now i also carry a gun. On the street there are no rules and no honor anymore. Its simply a matter of survival out there. You cant look for a fair fight or an honorable match on the street.
You see crazy joe, I am not delusional. If I am ever in the street and I am encountered by a group of thugs or a guy with a gun I would just run! Only an idiot thinks that he can fight a gunman barehanded. Now, there are ways to disarm a gunman or fight a group of people, but they are heavily dependant on many factors ( i.e distance between you and gunman, how many thugs, environment, etc,) It's not impossible to survive such situations, just improbable. But, you do have a point, this is not criticism, just my personal opinion.
i must say i don't understand this 'gun' practice.. a knife i would understand, but where in the world i come from _very_ few have guns on the streets, and well, if someone pointed at me with a gun, the last thing i would do was to try fiddling with my hand inside my jacket trying to get my gun out, that is the best way to get killed.. and well, the most dangerous people i know of, are those walking around with one hand on the gun 90% of the time just looking for a chance to shoot someone.. Of the people i know of.. i would trust only 3-4 people to carry a gun around.. it takes years of training in both ballistics, shooting under stress and so on to be even close to handeling a shootout in a way where you realisticlly can say that you have a better chance than the other guys.. there is way too many random chances so my idea is: let there be a _very_ thurrow program for those who want to carry a gun, and let those who are clueless _not_ ...
If a person has the intent to shoot you running away would be pointless...
When someone intends to use a gun you should talk your way out of it, because the body takes to all actions and running is an action.
Just because somebody's got a gun, doesn't mean they'll be able to shoot very proficiently. Two weeks at the shooting range won't prepare for hitting a moving target.
someone pulled a gun but right when i seen it i ran....
other times people just flash it so that they're bitch asses wont have to fight and wont get attacked. if you pull a gun ..use it! it not don't even show it off..
i've ran a few times and no shots let off... other times yes...
another time some guy pulled a gun and i had no choice to stay .. i was scared.. but nothing happend.. i was real scared but didn't show it.. my heart dropped but i didn't show it..
it verys from time to time.. i have just been lucky
Seriously, how many Gangsta's and street thugs you ever seen at a shooting range. None, thats how many. They are of the point and shoot variety. Although people get killed every day by thugs I can't imagine they really have any skill in the shooting department from practice at a range. The only practice is from moving cars and up close and personal. Guns are certainly dangerous in the wrong hands but if you are twenty feet or more from a thug and you are zigzagging running away bet he cant shoot your ass. I mean if you are closer and have to do something about it do it but I wouldn't wait for him to get any closer no mater how bad a shot he is. People see the gun and get scared naturally and freeze up so the perp gets closer where even his granny in the hood with bad eyes could waste ya.
