Okay all you grapplers out there! I’m looking for a good technique to use. I’m not a grappler so I’m not sure of the terms you guys use.
Let me start by giving you the back ground. I was visiting family in another state for spring break. I have a nephew that is into ma (black belt in tkd). He is a fairly cocky and very large guy out weighs me by 55lbs. Anyway he bothered me and bothered me to spar he thinks he can beat me. Well after a lot of persistence I agreed to spar. He ended up on his ass a lot from me doing leg kicks(kicking his support leg while he was kicking). He had a huge arsenal of kicks very fancy ones too none of which got me. I’ve trained in muay thai and love to clench and throw knees. The first time I clinched him I threw l-knee landed on his sternum, outside r-knee landed on his ribs. Anyway he said “I bet you can’t do that again”. So within 15 seconds I had him again(clinch) and landed two knees . This time he dropped to the ground and grabbed my leg( he’s lucky I wasn’t throwing another knee down the middle, could of hurt him bad). Well I wrestled in high school I also wrestled in aau (freestyle). So I’m pretty good at this. I sprawled out used his head as lever and spun around on his back. In true wrestling fashion I tied up his leg with my leg so he could not sit out or stand up.
Here is where my question is. I really wanted to sink a choke or an arm bar. I have him flat on his stomach I’m on his back and have control. Yes I was hitting and using elbows. No matter how hard I tired to get the choke or a arm behind his back he was to strong or tucked his chin to his chest. What techniques are good from this position and how are they applied? Thanks.
