  • Which art is better for takedowns?

I have been trying to improve my takedowns and I would like to train with this in mind. There are two schools in my area that I've been thinking of: One teaches Gracie Jui Jitsu and the other school is for Joe Son Do. Which art do you think is superior in the takedown department?

    By far, Joe Son Do.
When you learn that art you will learn how to gain a big belly, and grab a sloppy headlock on your opponent, and push him from one corner of a room to the other. Then once you are done with that vicious move, you'll learn how to fall onto your back, and rabbit punch the back of your opponent's head as he chokes you with ONE hand while pulling down your pants.
Plus your testicles will be so KI filled, that you can get hit numerous times there, and not feel any effect.

    Good training to you.

      Ryu:

The bitterness and loneliness of single-life has made your posts much funnier!

      That last one was classic!

Your ex-girlfriend's loss is the Forum's gain.

      Don't you feel better now?

        Ryu.......say WHAT??

Ryu - I'm shocked at you brother! What kind of answer is that? lol

I'm not familiar with the second art mentioned, but I can say that BJJ is just "ok" on takedowns (to be fair to other BJJ students, I am only a white belt, so maybe the "advanced takedowns" are to come at a later date), but I have taken both Judo and free-style wrestling, and they both have good takedowns, IMO.

        Ronnie.
