Unofficially it was said that there was 1,500 competitors at the Pan Ams, but Kid Peligro stated it was 850.
Aside from the horrible weigh in line, the matches were good, always some controversial calls by referees but that will always happen. Some of the most spirited action was by the females.
I had 2 matches, won my first and lost in the finals. My shoulder was bad, I have a bad muscle spasm and a pinched nerve.
In both of my matches, my shoulder was on fire, felt like someone was pouring hot water on it. I tried to stay on my feet as long as possible and my opponents, both pulled guard. I was able to get to half guard. In my first match, I got an advantage since I was passing and almost got mount and the match ended and I had the advantage.
In my second match, same thing, I tried to stay on my feet, got pulled down and almost passed his guard but ended up in half guard. He tried for the Kimura and I didn't have a good hold and he eventually got my arm and I tapped.
