I'm for allocating more resources to the study of global warming. I just don't think we should wreck our economy and institute a bunch of crazy laws without fully understanding the phenomena.

Most scientists believe that global warming is a FACT, not a theory. Al Gore, and I believe Nader, agree. Bush, as usual, has no opinion, though the energy interests he represents certainly do.

We don't need to deep-six the economy, but we do need to gradually but firmly end our addiction to fossil fuels. If we start now, in 30 years we could be a long way towards solving the problem.

But the oil companies will never let that happen.

Vote for Gore.

Listen to me carefully. Nobody has "sold the left down the river". Gore and Clinton campaigned as conservative "New Democrats" so anyone who voted for them knew what they were getting themselves into. They are not as liberal as I would like, sure, but heck, no one is. This country is not liberal, it is conservative. Therefore, the Left has to pick and choose its candidates very carefully. It is impossible to run a modern campaign without money, and to raise money you need business behind you to some degree. This may dishearten you, my liberal brother, but this is the Way of the World.

Al Gore has been at the forefront of the environmental issue for more than ten years. He is extremely well-versed on technology, economic, and foreign policy issues. For you conservatives, he has an attitude towards gun control that is lackadaisical, at best. He is NOT a fire-breathing liberal. If he were, he would not be able to come within 200 yards of the Oval Office without eating a bullet.

Also, as a Senator, and the son of a Senate legend, Al Gore knows Congress. He knows everyone in Washington. He knows how to get things done. Nader would have no clue.
