  • Ban NHB

I just watched a tv program called FOCUS on channel 3 (uk)
& it did a special on "Total Fighting".Instead of an informative program on the sport, they did a "scare piece" on how dangerous
this barbaric sport was how it should be banned in the UK.
It seemed badly researched to me.They were saying how much more dangerous it was than boxing & that it was banned in most states in the US & how at least 2 people had died in competition
(1 in the US & 1 in Hungary).

I emailed them my views. But unfortunately I didn't know enough about the banned in states or the deaths % thing. If anyone wants to inform them the email addy is:

    dutyoffice@meridiantv.com

Just had to get that off my chest.I hope they don't suceed in getting it banned as I wanted to compete in the next 18 months.

    Bloody media.

    Jez.

I hate when that happens... some uninformed moron starts talking about NHB and how it's so unsafe. NHB is much safer than boxing, there has never been a fatality in the U.S. And brain damage is minimal since the thin gloves worn by the fighters result in faster knockouts, therefore the fight ends and unnecessary damage is not done. Apart from that, 65% of all fights end by submission, which means that the fighters are not injured at all, or very little. I'm actually quite excited about MMA competition starting in the U.K. The UFC hosted a show called "Brawl in the Hall", it was excellent, Morgan Freeman is a really good fighter, I honestly hope that we start competing with people from the U.K. Hey, more people to join the party. Your concern for the sport is admirable, good job man.
