Must have taken some time to make the magazine, seeing that it has UFC 41 instead of 42 and Pride 24 instead of 25
How often will the magazine be published?
One doesn't get subscribtions with reports on events people have already seen ( and that's direct or within a month of the event on PPV and a couple of days later on the internet)

    Looks like a superglossy magazine

Toudiyama, I agree about people not getting magazines based on past events, but we really feel in this case there is an exception. It's hard to explain, you just have to see it to believe it. Each event has 10 pages of coverage with pictures noone has ever seen before, by world class photographers such as Susumu Nagao and Peter Lockley.

The events coverage only takes up 25% of the magazine though. The magazine is mostly made up of feature stories and interviews.

We will be publishing about 6-7 issues this year and then plan to go monthly by the beginning of next year.

Since you've come back and debated without getting your panties in a wad...that speaks well of your organization.

What does your magazine offer that I can't get off the internet?

Post a sample of your work on your site. Not excerpts, but a full blown article. Just one is all I ask.

How about a 'Charter Subscription' rate for people who sign up in the early stages of your mag?

How much of your mag space is spent towards advertisement?

If you REALLY want to make a impact with the internet crowd, I would suggest you send an issue to Phil Elmore and have him do a review. He can be found at www.philelmore.com

The Girl of the Month does look promising however.

good work fight scene. I am also interested in starting a magazine, but not a fight magazine (so don't worry about me competing against you )....would you be kind enough to give some pointers as to how you got started and other inside tips to publishing industry.

Szczepankiewicz, I don't mind the questions, that's what I'm here for. We're also very confident in the quality of the magazine, so we don't mind the criticisms. Everyone who has seen it in person has raved about it.

What we offer you that you won't find on the net are incredible pictures and exclusive interviews and features that you won't find anywhere else. The size of our magazine is huge, about the same size as ESPN magazine and we are full high quality gloss. It's the type of magazine that is like a book and one you will enjoy looking through over and over IMO.

We also have great training and technique articles and a professional model as our girl of the month. There's not really a way to describe it in full until you see it yourself, it's just that good and I'm not just saying that.

              BTW, who is Phil Elmore?

dkn, are you familiar with the Adobe publishing series? If you know how to use that and also have an Apple Power Mac G4, then you can basically lay out a professional magazine.

After that you need to find a good color seperator and printer and that's where the the big expenses come in. You will also need to spend on buying pictures and paying your writers.

I'm looking forward to seeing the professional model! If it's available to order in the UK, then I'll buy it.

swan104, yes, you can order it to the U.K. from our website at http://www.fightscene.tv

The first issue's model is actually from the U.K.

I thought all women from the UK were hairy???? I guess I was wrong.

Phil Elmore is a fairly well known resource for objective interviews and product evaluations and reviews in the martial arts, specifically the self defense arena.

He is also a writer and the editor of The Martialist magazine.

His review is a good guideline as to whether or not something is worth the money you spend on it.

He posts here as Sharp Phil.

so tell me whats the difference between blackbelt magazine and your magazine. i notice the swimsuit/playboy section( which i might add brings alot to the magazine). but besides that. i am currently subscribed to blackbelt and mens health. i like mens health better. does it have a techniques section or what. you really need to lower the cost. it costs me 2 bucks per issue for both magazines.

This magazine is available at Borders bookstores in London. Don't know if borders have any stores outside London though.

I've never heard of Borders Bookstores up here. We only have Waterstones and stuff like that.

I do buy Grappling magazine now and then though. Does anyone else read that?

Yeah i've checked out grappling magazine a few times, it's pretty good. Seems borders have stores all over the UK:

                                BOURNEMOUTH | BRIGHTON | BRISTOL | CAMBRIDGE | CHESHIRE OAKS FORT KINNAIRD - EDINBURGH | GLASGOW | ISLINGTON | KINGSTON-UPON-THAMES
LAKESIDE | LEEDS | LEICESTER | CHARING CROSS ROAD - LONDON
OXFORD ST - LONDON | OXFORD | SPEKE | STOCKPORT
                                SWANSEA | SWINDON | WATFORD | YORK

I think they carry the best selection of magazines i've seen.
