The only bad thing I have heard about running is that it can wear out your knee cartilage, but I think that's only if you run throughout your entire life.

i almost run every day about 2 miles currently increasing distance each time, i dont run when im real sleepy or if im just really really dont want to. those are the two execeptions. if your body tells you it really dont want to dont do it, if your brain tells you do it, sometimes the brain doesnt want to, but if the body doesnt want to it feels much worse.

don't run everyday run one day and then lift the next. or instead of running do some other cardio workout that benefits your martial arts training. like hitting the bag.

i hit the bag, wrestle, and lift......so i think i'm doing good.

I run 3 or 4 times per week, going as far as I can go in about 30 or 40 minutes (when I have more energy). I run 6 or 7 km. I cool down with a 10 minute walk and then I do four 3 minute rounds of skipping.

Earlier this year I experienced some knee pain and had to quit running for a while, but I experimented with a knee support and that does the trick.
