Related to the "Strenght/Skill/Spirit thread, but this time related only to fitness.

Imagine you are completely average in all the "S" factors

    strength
    stamina (aerobic)
    Supplenes
    Stamina (anaerobic)

Whcih do you think is the priority to develop for streetfighting?

i don't know what supplenes but i would say the other three are equally important.

Real life street fights are normally quite short.

because they are in uncontrolled enviroments.

I.e. objects that can be used as weapons, bar stool, bottle, ashtray, brick, beer glass, knife, anything can be a weapon.

        Also other people interviening.

        etc.

So the usual shortness of the fight makes it usually very explosive.

And strength can be very explosive,
        so i'd say strength.

But in a martial art / self defence combat,
But in the ring, its different.

The stamina and supplness etc become more important.

Good awareness, stay out of places where drunks hang out, stay out of bad neighborhoods, buy a gun and get a cary permit. The rest probably won't do much for you.

            Dont forget some hand grenades.

Oh and use a armoured personell carrier.

Dont forget to have "air-cover" at all times......

And mates with double barrelled sawn off sub machine guns,
            covereing your back.

And thats just for when you go to church !

If you think that, why post in a martial arts forum?

                    Doubleouch,
I respect your opinion, but you really seem to have bought into Mr. Thornton's "self-defense is a dead-end, and you might as well buy a gun instead."

I agree with Choke in saying that explosive strength is very valuable/useful/necessary. How about adding 'hitting power.' If you don't have power behind your strikes and blows, you can just forget it.
