Falcon, I thought you said that akido was similar to bjja.

Considering jui jitsu is mainly a ground system,
how can you claim to have any knowlege of bjja,

    you've never even rolled once!

So how can you have an appreciation of it ?

In your mt, perhaps you dont strike ?

I thought you did everything at your master-class.?

Lack of consistency in your answers ?

It will harm your defence if you don not mention now,
something you wish to rely on later !
C'mon admit it your Rita without the false boobs.
I told you to keep taking the hormones.....

Na, actually most of the guys I run across are kinda like you. Either they run when you look at them or you just hit them once and the fights over.

                Ghost,
I wholeheartedly disagree with "Muay Thai and BJJ are the best systems for self-defense." In fact, it would be difficult to be more incorrect. They will definitely lend attributes to you that are useful and contribute to effective self-defense, but they are not self-defense in and of themselves.

Not trying to get nothing started, but if you kick him in the face are you showing self-defense or offense? That all depends on the way you look at it. The way I see it if you are attacking him that is offensive and if he came at you, whether you kick him in the head or break his arm.........that is still self-defense. I think alot of people think that self-defense is just holds and takedowns and kicking and punching are all offensive. I don't think so though.

And there is nothing wrong with Aikido. Can we please get off that subject.

I dont see alot of use for those courses that call themselves street self defence and teach a load of wrist locks and stuff which doesnt work.

I think the fighting techniques used in MMA are useful.

I acnt see why there would be a totally different approach to self defence and hitting first is self defence. As a trained Martial Artist you should be able to tell when you are about to be attacked unless it comes from behind. Something falcon should know about. Ha Ha.

Also say they throw a punch and you push kick them back. You hit first but they threw the first shot.

                      Any ideas???

Actually, I'm not wrong. You are a bit of an idiot. Fighting is not self-defense.

                        Sports that can be useful:
                        1) Western Boxing
                        2) Muay Thai
                        3) Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
                        4) Wrestling
                        5) Wing Chun
                        6) Judo
                        7) Vale Tudo
                        8) Filipino Martial Arts (Kali/Eskrima/Arnis)
                        9) Catch-as-Catch-Can

                        The best stuff available:
                        1) Reality-based Self-defense (Franco, Dimitri, Thompson, Blauer)
                        2) WW II Combatives (Cestari, Grover/McCann)

MT could kick you in the face any day.
How old are you? 12? Give it a rest, son.

Obviously you must be about 12 Casper. Tell me something...if there are 3 guys standing over in a corner stairing at you like they are gonna kick your ass and they come walk over and you hit them because you thought you were about to be assaulted (and not from the rear like you like it). When the cops show up who is gonna go to jail? You can throw that self-defense shit at them all you want but just because you think you are in danger doesn't make it self-defense when you haul off and hit someone.

Actually thats pretty much the rule for self defence over here. Hit first. Its accepted and the cops dont care about a fist fight.
