Many parents don't care, and they do not have the moral sense to "turn off the TV". So their kids may end up being effected because of it.

So now you want the state to raise any the children of parents that the STATE determines are not fit to raise???

      I'm an elitist!

Actually no, the point I made was that the "off switch" argument does not work as well as people think. If TV violence is proven to make kids more violent, and there are some parents who don't care, then the kids suffer.
You can't have your cake and eat it too. If you don't want to censor certain things, don't complain about the problems. If you do want to censor things, don't complain about rights and free will.

in theory, "use the switch" should be THE answer. unfotunately, there are many parents who either don't have the time or the interest in keeping ther childen shielded from adult content. it is my opinion that lack of education is the greatest cause of this phenomena...and since bush will prob be the pres, we are all screwed because his record on education absolutely sux dix! later!
