HA, wait I remember something. Once I took this girl out to dinner at Medievil Times that I had strong feelings for. I let her sneak in a fork (you have to eat with your hands) and she fed me something or another, can't really remember. Anyway, I wanted to keep the fork as a momento after all that, and I kept it in my car. The girl left for her hometown, and I forgot about the fork. 3 years...yes THREE years later I found that the fork had fallen under the seat in my car! I will noteven begin to tell you what it looked like.....dear god...
I'm into Musashi for the same reason you think that Frank Shamrock is "dang impressive" - because he defeated everyone who dared to challenge him. Not only that, but his "Book of Five Rings" is possibly the greatest work on fighting strategy ever produced.
Educate yourself, Patterson. Great warriors don't always play nice.
I've read Eiji Yoshikawa's account of Miyamoto Musashi, and reading your post reminded me of how I felt when I first read of his life through the novelist's eyes.
I just recently saw the first installment of the Samurai Trilogy, which is a film adaptation of Yoshikawa's work. I'm not sure how accurate it was, but it sure was a lot of fun. Reminded me of 'Star Wars' a little bit. Lucas was big on Japanese historical films.
