Who do you guys think would win? I think Bruce would be too fast for Rickson and he would KO him.

Rickson vs Bruce Lee

Clinching Bruce without taking some SERIOUS shots would probably have been very difficult at the least. I don't think Rickson has ever faced a striker of even close to that caliber. A world class striker, today like a Roy Jones or a Mike Tyson, is not so easy to take to the ground, and all the BJJ guys that think they will just take anyone down and finish them in a fight have never been seriously tagged. When you try to clinch and you take even as little as one HARD strike right on the chin, the whole game changes. But to become a striker of world class caliber takes lots of talent and 30 years of practice, whereas you can become decent on the ground with just a few years of BJJ.
If I had to place my money I would place it on Bruce because he would strike in areas that are totally illegal in today's NHB fights, and that's how he would finish. I doubt Rickson has had too many guys throw a lightening kick to his nuts.

Yes but....
Ive heard this theory about good strikers taking out the grappler as he either shoots in or clinches. This indeed does sound possible but why have we never seen this work in MMA competition? In almost all cases I have witnessed the guy that shoots gets the takedown. If he doesnt it is normally because he is fighting another grappler and it gets countered. Now I know we havent seen the likes of Roy Jones or Mike Tyson in MMA but guys like Maurice Smith, Pat Smith and Vitor Belfort are all good strikers. Yet none of them have ever prevented a take down with a blow to the chin or whatever. In my humble opinion Rickson Gracie would tie little Bruce Lee into the shape of a pretzel and destroy him. It is a known fact that Bruce Lee was nowhere near as good as his ledgend makes him out to be. He was a little guy with fast hands and good power, he never fought in tournaments and has only one reputed street fight which ended in a draw. Bruce Lee is a great Icon for the Martial arts but Rickson Gracie is a great fighter. There is a difference.

Bruce Lee was an excellent fighter. He didn't compete mainly because he had nothing to prove in the type tournaments at that time. The fact the he ate up Louis Delgado every time they sparred showed he could have done very well if he had wanted to compete. However, I don't see him having much of a chance against Rickson. He was too small and didn't have the ground experience to stay with Rickson.

If bruce wouldve been surprised by rickson or bjj the outcome would have been the same as any of the strikers who met royce in the early ufcs. He wouldve gotten taken down and tapped out. But, bruce was an extremly fast learner. Given some exposure, Im sure he wouldve been very hard to deal with. As far as him already knowing some grappling, it didnt help severn none. If you dont know bjj or how to defend against bjj, your chances of lossing is very high.

"Bruce Lee would get his *ss kicked easily. What the h*ll would that f*cking light-weight feather-weight unhealthy pile of bones do to Rickson? And dont even answer that question because Rickson would do whatever the f*ck he wanted to Bruce Lee. That would be a joke fight. Bruce Lee aint nothing. A light-weight kickboxer would school him. And by the way, that piece of sh*t lee aint that much faster than Royler. Yes, indeed."

OUCH!!
Lets not forget that Dan Inosanto still thinks, nearly 30 years on that pound for pound, Bruce was one of the strongest people he has ever seen in the martial arts. That's quite something for someone with Inosanto's experience and research.
You all bring up good points, and some pretty dang insulting ones too, but never mind. Truth is we can only guess as to what would have happened, shame....
