When i began learning to use a sword(very recently) I never expected that i would be walking down the street and have to try to defend myself with it.
Some swords can be concealed, a friend of mine has a bamboo walking cane that is actually a katana, the handle is bamboo and so is the sheath, they meet at a joint in the "bamboo"
and dammit its no hernia im having a coniption fit lol.
