    Randy Couture defeats Randleman
    ref stopage 3rd round 4:13

Randleman clearly won the first two rounds fairly easily taking down Coture and not doing much while on top amazingly Couture actualy attempts an armbar from the bottom (when is the last time you saw a wresler do that?) but is a little slow at it and Randleman blocks it. At one point in the 2nd round Randleman thrown a few nice punches standing that hurt Couture. In the 3rd round Couture manages to keep the fight in the clinch throwing a few knees and then gets a nice takedown and throws alot of punches eventualy getting mount and the ref stops the match. Couture gets his UFC heavyweight belt back as Randleman shows alot of class by putting it on Couture.

    Renato Babalu defeat Maurice Smith
    unaminous decision
Renato dominated the ground game and Maurice was unable to do anything standing. Even Renato's standup seemed on par with Maurice's.

    Josh Barnett defeats Gn McGee
    ref stopage 2nd round 4:34
1st round was a dominate round for McGee as he managed to get mount and throw some good elbows. 2nd round holy crap! What is with the cardio of these big guys?! Mcgee's is obviously burned out failingat his takedown attempts and Barnett eventaly mounts McGee and manages to get some nice punches through McGee's defence to get a stopage.

    Andrei Orlvosky defeats Brink
    armbar :55 seconds 1st
Orlvosky suprised alot of people showing great defence in standup and preventing being taken down. He manages to takedown Brink gets mount almost is reversed and gets a nice armbar submision.

    Jens Pulver defeats John Lewis
    KO :35 seconds!
Amazing! Lewis throws a couple of jabs attemting to use his reach advantage and Pulver counters with a great left hook, down goes Lewis! Perfectly planned fight, Miletich trained Pulver exactly what to do agaist Lewis and that is exactly what happened in the ring.

    Monsen vs Liddell
Did not happen since Monson failed a catscan test in the medical.

    Perliminary
Mark Hughes wins unaminous decision against Alex Steibling. Mark looked a little raw and unpolished, needs some more training....

    Earwood vs Lytle
    ??? not televised...

This card was very well produced.
It's a shame the Monsen/Lidell fight didn't occur, i was looking forward to it alot... Lidell has improved drastically.

Anyhow, the fights were well matched up.
Lewis learned the hard way not to completely change the tactics that made you successful. It annoys me when someone tries to crosstrain, and is successful in a fight against someone who isn't crosstrained at all ( vs. Anderson), and totally changes the way they fight to cater to it. Rather, they should use the crosstraining to further the sucess of their style.
A perfect example is Randy Couture. His guard looked fairly decent. His armbar attempt, though not anywhere near smooth, was decent and made Randleman have to worry about it at least a bit. TOTALLY different than when Randleman hit the ground on his back. His guard could be passed at any point, no defensive movements whatsoever, legs just hanging open... Couture obviously had be working his guard. MAJOR props to him. Coming into the fight, I had waed Randleman to be the aggressor and win the fight, but seeing Coutres improvements through the battle, which was very entertaining BTW, was enough for me to turn around completely and root for Couture.

    Good event.

Mo Smith to me is the equivelant of what many people think Dan Severn is. The gutsy veteran who no matter what he does he's still a favorite. Mo Smith is the man, sorry he lost to some guy I never heard of. He'll probably be in the next UFC though like he always is. I'm glad Couture beat Randleman, I just don't like him

Mac-Daddy...... Lowell Anderson IS crosstrained. He was a TDK practitioner before he got into BJJ... a black belt at that. That night just wasn't his night. Lewis fought a VERY smart fight using the same tactics he used against Carlson, Jr.

You had never heard of Babalu before then? I hope we don't see Maurice back. He is very borring and too one dimensional.

A friend with a tape of the show refused at work to tell me who won the Coutere/Randleman matchup,my guess was a Couture KO of Randleman,I wasnt too far off.I am glad couture is active again,he is a great fighter(beating Randleman after a what,3 year layoff?)and as asset for the sport,Of course,I say the same about Randleman,he always shows up in great shape and is a game fighter.
I picked Coutere as I feel his ground game is more balanced and he is a dangrous hitter.Dam its nice to be right sometimes!
