  • Am I the only one who thinks Randleman is way overrated?

I mean lets think about this, all he can do is take his opponent down and lay on top of them!He rarely ever tries to do any submissions.Just like couture showed him last night Randleman is nothing. It was all over after couture mounted Randleman.

I tend to agree with you Robbie. Randleman is powerful but he seems one dimensional and unable to finish his opponents. Couture is much more well rounded as a fighter and I thought he'd be able to win.

While I agree he has shortcomings, I don't feel he's over rated. He's beaten some very tough guys.

            Sorry bro!

Randleman is far from being overrated. We're talking about a middleweight who's beaten some very tough heavyweight fighters in route to being a champion. How many other middle weights could have accomplished this feat? And the fact is, he can easily fight under 200 lbs.

In my opinion, his loss to Couture isn't a set back. Now, he can go fight in other organizations under 200lbs. With his power, skill, and ability to deal out extreme amounts of punishment, there aren't too many middles that can take him.

Hopefully, we'll get to see Randleman in his own weight class and then we'll talk about this overrated thing.

            later bro....

Where are you getting him being a middle weight?Everywhere I've seen he weighs 220lbs.

Randleman has barely any skill whatsoever.Like I said all he can do is lay on his opponent and throw enough punches to get a decision.

Randleman definately has SERIOUS skill.... he is not overrated IMO.

He just needs to work on fighting/escaping from his back.

I was impressed by KR's ferocity, power, and awesome takedown skills. He countered the surprising armbar pretty well also.

I was most impressed by KR's class after the fight... he won me over as a fan.

KR could cut weight to fight as a MW... there has been discussion of him doing this before.

He never "wins" his fights. He get decisions, most of them boring. There should be a rule that if 4/5 of your fights go to decision then you are banned from MMA competition.

Randleman usually weighs in around 210 lbs. He's a very small heavy who can definitely cut weight and become a middle.

I think some of you guys are going off the deep end here. If every fighter that had a lot of fights go to a decision then there wouldn't bee very many fighters out there. To say he has harly any skills is plain stupid. The guy has unbelievable takdowns(he took Couture down 2 times in the fight) and looked very superior to him on the feet with punching. I think he underestimated Randy's guard defense, but I think most of us thought that who ever got the takedown would win the fight. I know watching the fight at the arena me and my friends all thought that Kevin was totaly dominating Couture going into the 3rd round and it didn't appear that Couture would be able to win. Just becasue a guy looses doesn't mean he should quit, or that he now sucks. He did beat Rizzo, and whatever shortcomings Kevin has, many other fighters have as well. More than anything you really ahve to take your hat off to Couture. I don't know who he has been training guard with, but he should keep it up. He really did a terrific job of protecting himself on the bottem, and using up a lot of Kevin's energy trying to throw punches. This isn't the end of the worlds for Kevin. He's still a very good fighter, with a lot of time left in his carrer to improve. Look at Coleman, a couple of years ago everyone thought he was finished. Instead he's now the #1 ranked heavyweight again. This loss I think will push Kevin to work harder, work on his guard more, work on passing the guard more and improve himself. I think his gameplan is what hurt him. Unfortunatly I think that Perreti's coments were correct, if Kevin had disengaged and stayed on the feet more he very well could have won the fight.

Randleman "beat" Rizzo? If a fight ends before regulation it gives lots of credit to the winner. I'm still not sold on this judge's decision thing.
Kevin Jackson has the most amazing takedowns ever seen in NHB. He is a very good fighter, but is far from being the top middleweight.
It's not fair to make a big deal out of decision wins or losses. On the other hand, when a fight is stopped due to a TKO, KO, or submission, then that is definitely a big deal.
Rizzo has not lost a fight yet, that is a matter of opinion no matter what anyone thinks.

Rizzo is staight up a bad ass!

I don't see too many fighters out there who could take him.

                              later dude..........
