Hapkido is a very effective martial art, especially for the streets when you are attacked. it specializes in joint locks and throws and sumbission techniques. It has punches and kicks but focus's more on locking and sweeps and throws. Most of their kicks never go above the waist. They ussually always kick below the waist. Some of their mottos are "Never kick higher then you actually need to". You will learn a lot of great self defense and escaping techniques in this art. Mixed with wrestling it should work out great.
You do not know enough after 3 classes to know if it sucks or not. Take more. If you think it sucks then you are probably going to a mcdojang. Find another hapkido school. If there arnt any then try wing tsung. Its a very effective art that is based on a lot of sensitivity and hand trapping and close in fighting as well. Its a more modernized version of wing chung and works great in street defense situations. I am thinking about taking this. It has a couple weapons too.
