Sounds like he's just parrying your jab and firing back at you. Do you throw the same punch at him again and again with the same timing?

You've got to be unpredictable or he will continue to hit your face!

Fake a high jab and then double jab at his gut.
    Hook off of your jab.
Jab at his gut and then throw a short right cross at his chin.

Get the angle and fire hooks at his ribs, kidney (right side) and liver (left side). Once you get inside don't let him get away, work his body and pressure him into the ropes. If his head peeps up, uppercut and hook.

    The hunter becomes the hunted.

however me punching his gut is pretty hard since im 6'1 and he is like 5'6 and im very open if do that but the rest is very helpfull.
umn and a ltl corection ther are kidneys on both sides and liver is on the right side.

Liver - I meant your left, his right.

Since you're taller I would get the angle and throw jabs and crosses at the body. Hook, uppercut works if you are the same height or he is a bit taller.

Wouldn't it e esier for me to go for the face then the body. Since my oponent is shorter it is easier for him to block his body. Plus woulnt be harder for a taller person to reach down and compromise his stance?

Your nice and tall, use those legs and roundhouse him in the face, or bring up that knee to his face, the clinching knee could be useful... Just some ideas.

try and sucker punch him too, raise your left arm high as if you are about to do a downward ridge strick to his head... at the same time jab with your right... he will raise his guard for his head and realise too late that your jab is coming in

The point is to mix it up. Suprise him. Double jab, triple jab, jab lo and high, fake jab and cross to the body.

perfect time to clinch is after you slip one of his punches and lift a couple knees into the bod (I would never knee anyone in the head while sparring).

Keep him at bay with push kicks and side kicks. When he charges in, keep your cover and let his momentum assist your clinch and start kneeing into the gut and from the side into his ribs.

It seems to me that the problem is that your guard is weak and you are not pulling your jab fast enough..

Left hand slip parry his headshot, right uppercut, left liverhook, left swing to the head, maybe finished of with a right strait?

Do you know what a disengagement is? Try this, it's pretty simple so it might work. When he parries and peunches it is almost or is at the same time right? Use your rear hand to parry his punch by slapping it to an outside line. Don't exagerate this movement or you will leave your head open. Imeadiately after you are parried, circle your hand around his and up into his jaw with a hook or corkscrew hook if he is hunkered down.

i agree with tom yum you simply need to incorporate more than one move... its very simple, just practice combinations... he has time to react to one jab, but wont be able to react to a jab, a punch, and a kick at the same time.. unless hes very good..lol

I dont understand wat that disengagement thing is but it sounds cool.
Another thing is that i have a fight tom.
My oponent is around my height but he always crunches down real low and we are not allowed o use legs so what should i do to really mess him up. COz last tieme he sucker punched me real nice.
