    ...this msg boards and others. i've noticed that the general conclusion is that kicking MT-style has it's advantages over chambered kicks. and that MT is a watered down version of a more powerful traditional thai art etc

    my question is, since SE asian arts seem to be pretty similar (i think?). ie filipino, thai, burmese arts share similar roots...

    then why didn't chinese arts incorporate these techniques into their systems? why does there seem to be a geographical division in the way these arts are practiced?

    or if they did, could you point me to more info on the history of such things.

    Well i think theres a difference in martial arts because of the different races of people there are, some arts are for smaller people, some for medium sized people, and others are for bigger people. They used the advantages of the different body styles when practicing the arts...just my 2 cents
