Training in Thailand
I have lived in Bangkok for the past 6 years. Yes there are alot of camps here to train at. Some are very good and some just cater to foreigners and getting their money. If you want a very camp one of the best in the country then go to Chu Wattana boxing camp. It is in Bangkok this is the camp where all the K-1 fighters from Japan come to train. They also have alot ot Thai champions in the camp. If u need any info or help please let me know and I will help if I can. dr041163@yahoo.com

If you are in Samui try Pino Gym,(small gym no web site) its in Lamai down the road from WMC. Not so busy cheap and plenty of attention. WMC is often too busy to get attention.
Chay-yai Gym by far the best Chiang Mai, www.chiangmaimuaythai.com. Mot Chay-yai just won North Thai Title and Lon Chay-yai now fighting on famous Songchai Promotions.
Koh Phangan better for full moon parties than learning Muay Thai

I heard that Tiger Muay Thai has great facilities but very, very busy. Worth a look. There was a guy in our gym today who was speaking very highly of a smaller gym in Phuket with good trainers. I will as him the details tomorrow. Im pretty sure there wont be a web site for it but i will find out what i can.

The gym in Phuket that the guy visiting our gym recomended is called:
J.Prapa, its on Kata Rd opposite Club Med hotel, Karon, Phuket. 076 284468.
If you go to Tiger Muay Thai, ask for "Yod" he is big (for a Thai) and was a trainer at Chay-yai Gym three years ago. If you mention Chay-yai he will take special care of you as they are close friends.
Phuket and Chiang Mai are both nice places with plenty of activities.
There is talk here at the moment of a Brazilian Top Team guy (from Rio )coming to train for a year and giving BJJ classes but i will keep you updated when i hear something definate.
Phuket is more expensive but has a beach and Chiang Mai is famous for pretty women. Try get to both if you can. If you come to Chiang Mai contact me and i will organise training at Chay-yai Gym, room or guest house etc
Enjoy your trip

If you contact Noom, muaythaichiangmai@hotmail.com he will oragnise a place for you to stay and let you know about prices. He is a nice guy and speaks very good English. There are some rooms right near the gym that are clean, own shower, tv etc that are 3000 baht per month. If you are staying shorter it may cost more. I would go for them as all you need is in that area and its easy to get in and out of town if you want to go for a few drinks or something..
The gym has a pick up service morning and afternoon so if you find a guest house you like in the city, the guys will come and pick you up and drop you off morning and afternoon. There are plenty of cheap places to stay in Chiang Mai. Top North Hotel is about 700 baht per night and has a pool, guest houses are about 400 per night or 200 for something really rough. The gym is on the South East side of town near Nong Hoi if you are looking at a map.
I suggest you contact Noom, he will find you a good place for a good price or just go straight to the gym when you get to Chiang Mai andn Noom will take you around to a few places to look at to find one you like. The boys will go out of their way to help you, im sure you will enjoy it.

Muay Thai Camp in Phuket Thailand
If you want to train in Thailand and also want to enjoy the beaches and the sun i would recommend to train at J.Prapa Muay Thai Gym in Kata Phuket.
The main instructors are top thai fighters who are the best of the best thailand has to offer.
Pet-eak and Pet-tho, both Radjadaman and Lumpinee Champs. Pet-eak just also won the Omnoi Boxing Stadium Championship in Bangkok.
Besides you have the beautiful countryside of phuket.
bye andy
