I'm very interested in martial arts. I'll be starting a kickboxing class next week, but it only lasts two months. I'm mainly taking it to get in shape fast and learn some basic techniques. After that I need some advice on styles/arts to get serious with. Anybody help me out?

Yes I've done some research. I would prefer to take Shorinji Kempo for it's hard and soft techniques, but there are no qualified instructors in minneapolis. MT seems to be available almost anywhere I look. I'm really looking for strong self defense, a physical challenge, and some fun. I can take or leave the spiritual aspects.

Sounds good MA. There are plenty of other styles around here in minneapolis, but I guess I'm being a little picky. So I think my plan will be to start with the kickboxing, it's just a community ed class taught by a former champ that lasts for two months. Then I have a martial arts center that I can join where I can take MT and JKD.
