  • Footwork Drills

In regards to footwork, what are some drills that you can do using a skipping rope, or without in order to develop good agility and endurance.

    Thank you.

said it b4 and say it again....

      get a coach.

As far as SUPPLEMENTAL drills, try skipping lightly with both legs, alternating, one leg for 10-30 jumps, moving forward, backward, sideways, jump while sitting on your feet.

Whatever happened to the guys asking what weight training excercises were good for kicks?

        Agility drills

First, any plyometric drill will improve your agility, such as jumping down from a bench then back up onto another. You might try skipping rope over a parking bumper, until you can stop and skip atop it. Also you can run forwards and backwards up and down stairs. Learn to skip rope on a stair. Squat jump up the risers of a bleacher. Do all of the male and female triangles (from many Filipino martial arts) you can stomach. Play any game the neighborhood kids are playing...lol, do cartwheels, 2-armed, 1-armed (back arm and front arm). Another stair drill is running sideways, alternating which leg leads, up and down. Be prepared to fall, which will also increase your agility while you are trying to keep from being knocked out
