  • What is this (KB, MT)

I had my first lesson today.
It was utterly fantastic, I cant wait till sunday when I go again, but Im somewhat confused.
The class had 14 people, 10 kickboxers, 4 karate peoples.
Secondly, we are taught normal kickboxing stuff, but elbows and knee's , but its still not Muay Thai (We dont spar with the elbows and knee's but they are taught incase needed )
    Anyhelp?
    Thanks

You go to class and don't even know what it is? Oh brother! Did you try asking your instructor? Or does he not know what he teaches.

It just said kickboxing, so I assumed, American kickboxing.

What did you do walk into the first Martial arts gym you say, or close your eyes and whatever add in the yellow pages your finger landed on was the one for you?

No need to turn into a jackass.
I found out there were lessons at my sports centre, called up the guy who ran them, asked all the questions, he didnt mention the words 'Muay Thai'.
Next to no places do Muay Thai in the UK, I searched for a week and the closest was 320 miles, so by defacto this was likely to be American kickboxing.

You might ask Thai Bri, since you're based in the UK

Good answer, by the way. Sometimes you just do what you can with what you got. As long as you're aware that there are schools out there which are, well, somewhat sub-par on the competant instructor end.
