I've been training Muay Thai for over 3 months and i was thinking about taking a self defense, Kraw Maga ..I just want to be prepared for self defense for real life situations in the street...What do u guys think about this? I know Muay Thai is a sport and is trained as a sport but in a real life situation... I dont think people like to exchange blows to one another since we're not wearing gloves... In kraw maga...its basicly taking out the opponent before the oponent gets the chance to get u...thanks in advance

I don't think there would be a problem with that but don't underestimate Mauy Thai for self-defense application. The powerful striking techniques and good conditioning will give you the advantage over any average street brawler. If I were to compliment any art with MT it would be a grappling art (such as BJJ) so that you can feel comfortable on your feet and on the ground

To me, it's best to train with several instructors in there specialty. Of course it does not have to be at the same time. If you want weapons, why not train with an FMA instructor who has been doing it for decades instead of a Haganah or Krav Maga instructor who went to a 1 week seminar. Same goes to grappling or any other arts. Just take your time and be the best you can be. That's all!
