  • ANYONE know of any GOOD Muay Thai gyms in San Francisco/Daly City?

The only two I found were Fairtex (IMPOSSIBLE to find parking and I don't want to take BART), and World Team USA. Anyone here know of any more in the San Francisco/Daly City area?

fairtex is the way to go. If you don't mind the drive look for a TBA school, check their listings at www.thaiboxing.com
TBA or fairtex...only ones worth checking, unless you get lucky finding an independent from Thailand.

You can check out cheeta in Oakland (don't know the number. Try to google it) or Bunkerd who is in SF as well but not as central as Fairtex. http://www.fightandfitness.com/index.html

        SF and Oakland Option

San Francisco: I'm at Fairtex, great facility and top-notch trainers. We're having a smoker on October 23rd - check us out. They will be putting in a lot of improvements over the next 6 months as well (half-octagon, locker room, showers, cafe/juice bar, weight room, etc.). They are also running a special on registration (don't have details with me). Also, if you join per my referral I can get a couple of months free.

Oakland: New Place - -Pacific Kickboxing run by Michael Regnier. I trained with this guy when he was at City Boxing in San Diego - really good, highly recommended. Check it out at www.pacifickickboxing.com or 510-444-KBOX.

PS Parking at Fairtex could be tough during the day but I have never had a problem for the evening classes starting around 5 PM. There is a lot on the same block around the corner if you are attending training during the day.

i went there today and spoke to chris, who signed me up for the free trial class. i'll most likely join this one because the daytime classes are small, making it almost like a private lesson. i work at night time so daytime it will be for me. cute girls? now, that's an added incentive! LOL. cutest girls, in my opinion, that i've seen using muay thai are linda loyce (fairtex) and vivian leung (master toddy), and that unnamed poster girl for world team usa.

Join Fairtex a few blocks away and you can hang with Lynda all day if you like.

LOL. parking is easier at Fight & Fitness. Kru Bunkerd was really patient showing me the techniques today, and repeated them when I couldn't get it right. everyone was friendly, and there were no attitudes of superiority. everyone was helpful. i'm sure fairtex has great trainers and an even better facility, but i cant ever seem to find parking around that place. they were telling me there were a bunch of break in's because of the alleys. besides, i think ms. loyce would totally kick my ass and make my face look worse than it already is!

That's cool, good luck at Fight and Fitness. If you're around this Saturday you should come by Fairtex and check out the Smoker starting at 1 PM. It's gonna start with a demo by Neugsiam (sp?) and Coke (should be good). The staff has also hinted at a special guest from Thailand (not sure who).
