Muay Thai is a good art and you can take it as a first ma, but you have to be carefull about the place you train....you shouldn't go to any MT gym even if it is the only around.
There are many places who will produce good fighters quickly but the injury rate can also be very high.....

If the gyms around your place aren't really good take boxing, tkd (I hate it but it will be good for your flexibility and teach you some kicking), and go a few months to Thailand to learn the art there.

remember this before you find yourself a school, master preang said "before you learn how to fight, you must first learn how to not get hurt"

What is important about Muay Thai and any martial art you wish to train is finding the right club. This is especially true with MT, as a lot of people jumped on the bandwagon who have little understanding of the art. MT is not just about the physical side, but also the spiritual side. People who teach Muay Thai and don't teach about the spiritual side and history are just teaching Kick Boxing in my view.

Do your research before training with club. A good idea is to go down and speak to the instructors and watch a couple of classes before starting.

          I hope that helps.

This being said do you think that Mt is still appropriate for someone with no fighting experience?

I mean it seems pretty crazy if u ask me, but in a good way.

So yeah i was just wondering if i should maybe take another MA first or kickboxing or boxing first to you know gain some experience on the situation, then once i know what im doing a little try MT..

Care to shed some light ont he situation?
