  • New Muay Thai DVD Released...

We have recently released a review DVD that we did of the last seminar Ajarn Chai gave at our school. This DVD is packed with 12 attack/defense combos, the complete TBA boxing drills taught in detail and a special bonus section on extra Thai pad training drills.

The last one we did was a great success and we recieved a ton of positive feedback.

    Check it out.

A comment that I was just sent...

"Very classic, pretty MT! I'm feeling kind of guilty since I'm Thai and living in Thailand so I shouldn't be buying stuff on MT released by foreigners... but I've already ordered the combo."

    Awesome compliment.

I'm interested in that DVD. Can you told me which length (minutes) it has?

Thanks and all the best, Mike

          More feedback...

"Received my copy of Scott Elliott's Muay Thai Seminar Review part 2 last night. I have watched it four times since then. Once again the filming is well put together, and beats a lot of instructionals I have seen. You get a review of 12 combos, two drill sections and a special suprise clip(no I won't say what it is its a suprise). Some of the combos are a bit advanced for me, but I am a beginner. I really liked that he explains how to chain one combo into another, so in essence you could make an eight count combo or even more. There is great technical detail on many of the combos, and he explains a lot of options. The Boxing drills are great, he goes into detail on how to be a good partner (proper holding of the pads, movement, waht to look for etc...) This is really going to help me out because I am going to have my training partners watch it to produce a better training session. One of the combos I got to work right away (from the Plumb clinch), a posistion I have been having trouble with. The price is great too it was only like 17 bucks. I would really like to see Scott make a basics/beginners DVD since he is a great teacher and has very good explanations of not only what to do, but also what not to do (i.e why not lean forward when throwing a punch, maybe old hat for some but like I said I am a beginner.) This definitley gets an A+."

            Great DVD

I was away at a seminar when my copy arrived so it was a pleasant extension of the weekend to watch this video. I haven't seen the whole thing 4 times yet like the comment above but I have watched a few parts of it more than that.

I have a few Muay Thai instructionals, including the 2003 edition of this DVD. The quality of the filming is better on these two than just about anything I have seen. The instruction is clear and concise. 45 mins may sound short but think about how long it takes to show a techniques a few times. A few minutes each maybe? These films are packed. These DVDs are well worth the money in my opinion.

As it stands, if I could arrange for Scott to just charge my card and ship me the new edition every year sight unseen I would. Put me on the list, send me an e-mail when the next one is ready.

              Hi guys,
i am new here.... . What can I say to the DVDs?
Nothing yet, but I guess they are good.
I ordered 3 DVDs from the AFS Academy since the last two months (20. Mar 2005) but never receive my DVDs. I tried to contact the guys per email serveral times, but never get any answer. I'm far away from germany, after my first complaint he send me a tracking number of the company USPS.
I checked it out at the USPS Website and get this as answer: "Tracking service has not been purchased for this item". And try to contact this guys again, as you known with no answer.
So I just wondered, what the heck is going on here? Why does this guy promote this good DVDs here, but they are irresponsible and the service, i better don't talk about it.

Scott, I hope you'll read this thread to help me solve this problem.

                  Muay Thai DVDs

"Muay Thai in Thailand" was a great DVD (on Amazon.com), in that it explains the Thai culture and meaning of Muay Thai. It shows a camp in Northern Thailand that would be great to train at. A few months there would whip us in shape.

Is this video good for an absolute beginner? I've trained M.T. but for only 2mths due to busines and reoccurence of and old knee injury. I'm hoping this can help motivate me more as i train at home...What about conditioning though? Does this video have conditioning drills? Thanks in advance!

                      Dvd

Muay Thai in Thailand" is more focused on the Thai Boxing life style and background. It is not a training video. It also has a great overview on Thailand and some great live tournament footage.

Videos good for a beginner are Vut, Rob Kaman, Duane Ludwig, Duke Roufus, Bas Rutten and Pat Militech's tapes on striking from their MMA set. You can find all of these except at www.centuryfitness.com click on media then muay thai or extreme for Bas & Pat's tapes.

Oops, mean to say you can find all these except Duke Roufus set which is at www.groundfighter.com. His is the most expenise, but century offers some video and dvd deals on everything except Vut's set.

                            Scott Elliott Muay Thai video

This video was right up my alley. It contained lots of useful information, clearly presented in good detail. It didn't have any dead space at all and minimal repetition. After all, we can all replay the DVD, so might as well get more content eh? The bonus clips of possible blendings of savate and muay thai were fascinating too. Good job Scott :-)

                              Thanks!!!

The response to this DVD has been great. It's a great, inexpensive way to see alot of Ajarn Chai's material taught in pretty great detail.
