I've got an interesting question that has a lot of bearing, not only on my own students, but on anyone who finds themselves out of the gym for more than a week. They say (actually, I think Burton was the one who said it...) that if you miss a day of training, you'll be able to tell. Miss two days, and your partners can tell. Miss three days and EVERYBODY can tell. Well, over the holidays, I've seen a lot of my students and training partners take off for a week or two, and now that we're back, the sparring I'm seeing is months behind. There seems to be a thick coat of rust on everybody, and I was wondering what you guys do to knock that ring rust off when it hits you. Right now, I'm just working everybody back into things slowly, hoping that things come back, but I can definitely see that punches and kicks are stinging more than they used to, and folks are getting sloppier and wearing down faster. Just interested to see your take on things everyone, and looking forward to playing around with some of your ideas. Thanks,
Mike
