Hey Python, man it's been long time! I unfortunately did not make it to the States yet as business took me to the opposite side of the world.
How have you been and how's the training and your gym? Haven't been training that much lately but just bought a bag and a couple of boxing gloves, it's nive to be able to train at home at least.

    Cheers buddy

Any art can be affective in the street. Just need to know the weak points of the art and fix them.

I swear this works in real fights!!

Try jumping as high as you can and dropping the elbow to the top of your opponent's head. I know it sounds ridiculous but an untrained fighter's natural reaction when you jump straight at him is to lower his head, giving you a perfect target. The higher the better. "GIANT THROWS AN AXE" I knocked out an asshole in a club one time with just that move. (he thought it was cool to grab my g/f's ass)

If u on the street pls don't clinch u will loose your nuts as soon as u clinch.
Maybe only if the person is experience but that is definitely what u gonna loose if u clinch on to me.

This is no competition no rules.

            lol.

Yes, Muay Thai is "street" effective. Ring MT and even more so "Old Style" MT. The only difference is that in the ring, you don't have to worry about weapons. And on the street I'll be targeting the knees, adding breaks, throat strikes and chokes to the mix.

Side rant (meant in a constructive manner):

Footwork. Every one always forgets to mention footwork.

What gets you into position, allows you to move and counter, to move into a sprawl, allows you to slip a punch, to bridge into close range to throw the elbow or knee? To keep a centered base no matter how you move. Even clinch work. It's all based on footwork. If you don't have footwork, then it just a slug fest to see who outlasts the other. A war of attrition if you will. If we're talking street fight, and you like to stand there and slug it out, and I pull my blade, you're done.
For me this carries over from my weapons training, the goal is to hit with out being hit (or at the very least, minimize your opponents ability to connect). Don't get me wrong here, I'm not talking Yellow Bamboo (TM) "You will never touch me...I'll kill you with my finger touch" crud. This is meat and potatoes basic boxing, Muay Thai etc... Even in BJJ, it's what gets you into position to take down/throw. Footwork, everything else is built off of it.

That is true that footwork is very important but i must say that the slug fest u talk about is something u see in alot of MT fights.
They walk around and do combibations to basicly over power each other rather than outsmarting your apponent. That is definitely a good way to get tough but if u meet someone that can move u basicly in trouble.
