I know Stephon...I think. He's from Austin…or maybe he was going to move there. I can’t remember but he was a nice guy, pretty good and fun to work with. Well, I guess we just miss each other…I still go back to Tokyo every once and a while; if you do too PM me when you go and I’ll do the same. It might be fun to get together and train a bit

Will do! I miss the training, but I miss the food even more. Vancouver might have the best sushi in Canada, but it still doesn't compare. And there's this little ramen shop in Higashi-Matsubara...

The cheapest hotel in Tokyo (at least that I was able to find) - http://www.juyoh.co.jp/ if you print out the internet coupon, it costs 3,000 yen a night. That's about $26 US (man, the yen has taken a nose-dive!). The room is VERY basic though, with common bathrooms. If you're staying for a month, you might want to check out some gaijin houses/guest houses. A room in a guesthouse in Tokyo will set you back 60,000 to 90,000 ($518 to $776) for a month, plus a refundable deposit (which varies from 10,000 yen to half a month's rent to a full month's rent from place to place). http://www.fontana-apt.co.jp/apartments.html This company is a good place to start, although they can be a bit difficult to deal with for long-term stays (personality issues with some of the agents).

If you're only going for a month, getting a work visa might be a problem. I don't think US citizens are eligible for working-holiday visas. There might be some establisments that will hire you, but you work without a visa at your own risk.

There are some job listings in here http://metropolis.co.jp/ , also some information for what's going on in Tokyo entertainment-wise.

Better get a job under the table, cause you ain't gonna get a visa. And your not gonna teach english either (unless its under the table). Just go around and ask if you can help out, do any type of job. It's gonna be kinda tough not knowing japanese though...

                              But good luck!
