Strongly agreed. I can tell that, it is neccessary to apply for a Muay Thai camp so you can see the real movement and techniques, rather than learn from pictures or reading a books. It is also possible to learn from multimedia such as vdo dvd, but you can only "learn". The "real" practice only happend in the camp, where you can find your Kru and boxing partners etc.Originally posted by acremanDon't you think this is something your Kru should teach you. And if you don't train at a Muay Thai camp, maybe you should. Just a thought, don't try to learn Muay Thai from a forum.

techniques for striking are almost indetical in all martial arts its just the teaching and philoshpy of them that really change a round house kick in tang soo do is and looks the same as a round house kick in muai thai as far as basic kicks are concerned u will prolly only use the front, RH, and side kick in a real fight unless ur super athletic then u could prolly do a cresant or spinnig back kick but besides from technique foot work is KEY u can pretty much do any combo u want like jab left hook left head kick just try to remeber to use proper technique, and foot work and ALWAYS keep your gaurd up

Thought heavy bag is just to work on the power of ur kicks and toughen up the shin? Well at least thats what i do. To work on the kick in general prefer a light one simple becasue it moves and you can learn to control the power range and work on the footwork required to land repeated kicks.
try www.youtube.com
quite a few video of people working on bags as well as fights. Only a few is good but still a good guide.
